Job Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team supporting the bookkeeping and financial operations of our US-based entity. This role involves processing transactions, maintaining financial records, and supporting the finance team in various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy in financial transactions, maintain compliance with internal processes, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Transactions:
- Process accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Verify approvals and manage non-filing fee credit card charges.
- Assist in the preparation and posting of month-end journal entries and support with the preparation of financial statements for review
Record Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
- Ensure all financial documentation is properly filed and easily accessible.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Assist with additional internal and external reconciliations, providing necessary documentation and support. Ensuring that all transactions are accurately reflected and classified, and ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Assist with developing and updating the necessary SOP’s for the department.
Team Support:
- Collaborate with the US finance team to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Provide administrative support to the US finance team, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of financial strategies.
Checks Processing for LT&D Departments:
- Collaborate with internal teams to collect check requests via a designated spreadsheet.
- Enter all checks as invoices in the system and Apply payments accurately.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance administration.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software SAP
- Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
