Inclusion Teaching Assistant

GEMS Education
Inclusion Teaching Assistant
So what’s the deal?
Well, here’s the deal: GEMS Education wants someone who actually cares about kids, not just someone cashing a paycheck. You’re going to be the person that stands behind our mission to ensure every single student (yes, every student) feels included, supported, and like they belong. If helping kids who learn differently doesn’t get you excited about this, this probably isn’t the right fit for you.
What you’ll actually be doing (besides drinking too much coffee):
– Jumping in to give academic and emotional support to students of determination (SEND) right in class or in those cozy little group sessions.
– Helping roll out individual education plans—IEPs, for the cool kids—working with the inclusion coordinator and the main teacher. Not rocket science, but it matters.
– Making sure students who need exam help (think: readers, scribes, extra time) actually get what they need. No one left out.
– Teaming up with teachers to tweak lessons and resources so everyone’s got a shot, not just the superstars.
– Keeping an eye on how students are doing, and not being shy about reporting back to the teachers and inclusion crowd.
– Creating a chill, respectful, and solid learning vibe for everyone—not just the easy kids.
– Actually showing up to training, meetings, and whatever professional development the school throws at you.
– Sometimes, you’re just the hype person—cheering kids on when they’re struggling with school, friends, or just life in general.
What you need (aka, don’t apply if this isn’t you):
– You’ve done this before—worked in a school, maybe in inclusion or learning support. Not your first rodeo.
– Got a background in Special Ed, Psych, or something similar? Huge plus.
– Patience and empathy aren’t just buzzwords for you—you live them. Plus, you like to get ahead of problems before they explode.
– You’re a team player. Lone wolves need not apply.
– If you know your way around IEPs, differentiation, and making a classroom inclusive, even better.
Sound like your kind of chaos? Go ahead and apply. We need folks who care—no fakes, no flakes.
